Privyet Grupa!

We have picked up several new members recently. Since many people have busy weekend schedules during the summer, I'd like to suggest a September meetup.

I have found that one of the most useful techniques for learning the words for things is to point them out and have people tell me what they are (all the while conversing in the language, if possible).

Accordingly, I'd like to suggest an outdoor meetup, in Battery Park, Old New Castle, starting off at the quay on the end of Delaware Avenue (same street Jessop's is on). There is both parking (usually) and seating in that area. There are plenty of things to look at, name and discuss. When we're ready for a break, I'd suggest we retire to Jessop's for some uzhen, pivo and more objects whose names we can learn.

Let's see if we can do all of this in Russian only (except for ordering the beer, of course) :)

Sometime I'd like to see if we can do field trip to the Philly waterfront (or some other interesting part of Philly), followed by Russian deli shopping and restaurant dining up in the Bustleton area (with coolers to bring back our stuff). Another day, hopefully.
